Join us for a spooky ghost hunt at one of Chester’s most haunted locations on the most haunted night of the year - Halloween!
We have secured the reputedly very active and haunted Stanley Palace for a night filled with ghost hunting! On previous visits to Stanley Palace we have had lots of different activity and all of our guests have had their own spooky experience! There are several haunting stories related to Stanley Palace and it is reputed to be the most haunted building in Chester.
Formerly Derby House, Stanley Palace stands on or near the site previously occupied by the Dominican Friars (the 'Black Friars') in medieval times. It was built for Sir Peter Warburton, a Chester lawyer and MP for the City; it then passed as his daughter's dowry to the Stanley’s of Alderley.
Dating from 1591 with a partial rebuild in 1935, this magnificent timber-framed building is now owned by Chester City Council and managed by the Friends of Stanley Palace who open it to the public when other uses allow. (Listed grade II).
Due to the nature of the event and the location we have limited the places to 15. This is to ensure we can provide you with best experience possible on the night. We will also be providing you with a light buffet, with hot drinks throughout the evening! The Ghost Hunting will commence at 9:30pm with an introduction to Mischievous Spirits and a run down of the activities planned, which include:
Vigils
Séances
Table Tipping
Glass Moving
Scrying
Dowsing
Trigger Object Experiments
Please remember to bring a torch with you as the lights will be out all evening and the floors at this location are uneven. Please also wear sensible footwear. You are also encouraged to bring any equipment you may have, especially cameras and camcorders. Our past ghost hunters have captured some great images and video footage!!
Please note: This event is for over 18's only due to insurance purposes and this event involves being awake all night.
